I (Todd) wrote this song in the spring of 2009 as part of an acoustic E.P. I'd been working on. Grief Counselling and this song were a 2-song bundle about the same time in my life, Grief having a more positive outlook on the situation.
The E.P. (and this song) never got released, and then Travie McCoy penned Billionaire and that pretty much killed the possibility of ever giving this song a proper release. Here it is, though, my free gift to you :)
lyrics
"That's quite enough," she said.
"I've never cared enough to care for you."
Now I'm at wit's end. "I never cared at all."
"Say something with substance, then I'll waste my time on you."
Now I'm at wit's end, she never card at all.
Say you'll be there.
"But I never make promises," she barely sighed.
It's all that I can do to wait for you, my love.
"But I can't love."
'Then what's enough,' I plead. 'To write so many lines in vain for you?'
"Don't get me wrong," she said. "I never cared at all."
"Sing something worth hearing, then I'll waste my time on you."
Now I'm at wit's end, she never card at all.
Say you'll be there. "But I never make promises," she barely sighed.
It's all that I can do to wait for you, my love.
But I won't.
"Loud," she said. "What was I to do?"
It's all that I can do to wait for you, my love.
"Say you'll be there."
But I never make promises, I barely sighed.
"The least that you can do is wait for me, my love."
